Appetizer - Baked Brie En Croute

Dont you hate when people invite you over to their house and pull the can you bring an appetizer trick? I know I do. So, like everyone else, you bring over a bag of tostidos with a jar of gross queso and call it a day. NO! This is no longer allowed. Were going to bring this delectable and easy appetizer and knock the queso socks off of everyone. All you need to do is get everything ready and just bake it when youre there. They wont know what hit them. Ok, time to get cooking.

Ingredients

Brie cheese round 1 (top rind cut off)
Puff pastry sheet 1 (room temperature)
Butter 1 Tablespoon
Onion 1/2 , sliced
Apple 1/2 , sliced
Crasins 1 Tablespoon
Fresh thyme sprigs 5
Salt and pepper To Taste
Egg 1 , beaten

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

MAKING

2. In a sauté pan, over medium high heat melt butter.

3. Add in the onions and apples, craisins, fresh thyme leaves, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring often, until caramelized, for 6-7 minutes.

4. Lay the puff pastry out flat and add the onions and apples in the middle.

5. Top with the brie, rind side down. Start folding the four corners of the puff pastry over the top of the brie and then the remaining corners.

6. Flip the folded up brie over and put in bakeware that looks good enough to serve it in. Brush the top and sides with and egg wash.

7. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes.

SERVING

8. Serve with crackers.
