How to make a quick, fun Halloween treat...Meringue 'Bones" Demonstrated by cooking pro Betty Busciglio Busciglio.

Egg whites 2
Sugar 2/3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
Cream of tarter 1/4 Teaspoon

1. Preheat the oven to 275 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

2. Using the whisk attachment of a stand mixer beat the egg whites with the cream of tartar until foamy.

3. Add the sugar a tablespoon at a time beating well after each addition and in between scrap down the sides of bowl.

4. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag and cut off the tip.

5. Pipe the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet like bones.

6. Bake in oven for 30 minutes, turn the heat off and leave in the oven until cool.

7. Serve the meringue with cookies.

The two most critical factors in making meringue are to have your mixing bowl and beater scrupulously clean and to add the sugar slowly. The slightest trace of grease will prevent the mixture from thickening properly as will adding the sugar too quickly.
