Savory Bread Gratin

Ingredients

Bread 1 Cup (16 tbs) , cubed (any left over bread)
Fresh basil leaves 2 Tablespoon , chopped finely
Scallion (white and green) 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , chopped
Tomato 1 Large , chopped
Jalapeno 1 Small , chopped finely (Optional)
Kalamata olives 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , chopped finely
Salt To Taste
Olive oil 3 Tablespoon
Parmesan cheese 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , grated
Cherry tomato 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , sliced
Gruyere cheese/Mozzarella cheese 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , grated

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Preheat the oven to 395 degrees F.

MAKING

2. In a bowl, add bread cubes, basil, scallion, tomato, jalapeno (if using), kalamata olives, salt to taste and olive oil. Mix it well till all are coated with the olive oil and salt. Taste and adjust seasoning if required.

3. In a baking pan, spread half of the bread and veggies mix. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top. Spread the remaining bread and veggies mix. Arrange the cherry tomatoes and sprinkle Gruyere cheese as the final layer.

4. Bake in the preheated oven for around 20 minutes. Remove and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.

SERVING

5. In a serving plate, serve the bread gratin warm.
