Quick Potato Gratin

Ingredients

Unsalted butter 1 Tablespoon
Frozen chopped onion 2/3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
Half and half 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Frozen shredded hash browns 1 Pound (1 Bag)
Shredded gruyere cheese/Swiss cheese 2 Ounce (1/2 Cup)
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Freshly ground black pepper 1/4 Teaspoon

Directions

1. Heat oven to 400°F. Butter a 9-inch pie pan or 8-inch square glass baking dish.

2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion and cook, stirring, until softened and golden, about 4 minutes. Add half-and-half and potatoes and cook, stirring, until potatoes are thawed. Stir in cheese, salt, and pepper.

3. Transfer potatoes to prepared baking dish and bake in the middle of the oven until potatoes are tender inside and golden on top, about 35 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool 10 minutes, then serve.
