MAKING
1. In a medium (2 quart) microwaveable bowl combine first 5 ingredients.
2. Heat in the microwave at HIGH for about 8 minutes, stir halfway, until liquid comes to a boil.
3. Strain syrup into punch bowl or into indidual mugs
4. Pour in wine and stir well.
SERVING
5. Serve the drink hot garnished with additional orange slices and cinnamon sticks, if desired.
