You can make an amazing bowl of French Onion soup in about an hour. This recipe has a few basic ingredients, and it tastes amazing. Don't go out for French Onion soup when you can make a delicious pot of this soup.
Butter | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
White onion | 2 Pound , sliced | |
Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
Bay leaves | 2 | |
Flour | 2 Tablespoon | |
Beef stock | 2 Quart | |
Dry sherry | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Garlic | 3 Clove (15 gm) |
MAKING
In a large pot, add in the butter and onion. Season with salt and let it sweat for a few minutes.
Add in the garlic and bay leaves; cook until caramelized.
Pour dry sherry and cook until evaporated.
Add flour; stir for 2 minutes, until floor is cooked through.
Remove the bay leaves and pour beef stock. Heat through.
In a serving pour the soup and top with provolone cheese. Broil for a few minutes.
SERVING
Serve the soup with some toasted bread.
