Basic Bechamel Buttery and Milky Luscious Sauce

Create a beautiful roux and tips for a luscious Bechamel.


Butter 4 Tablespoon
Flour 4 Tablespoon
Cold milk 4 Cup (64 tbs)
Salt & pepper To Taste
Grated gruyere cheese 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (Optional)
Nutmeg 1 Dash (Optional)



1. Melt butter in a pan. 

2. Drop flour to the pan, whisk to mix and form the roux.

3. Add cold milk at regular intervals and stir to incorporate. Keep stirring and incorporating milk.

4. Season with salt and pepper. 

5. Add cheese and nutmeg and mix it in.



6. Serve over steamed vegetables or pasta. Enjoy.
