Gâteau Millasson (Gascon-Style Flan)

Not a pie, not a cake... Just incredible!


Flour 1 1/4 Cup (20 tbs) (300 mL)
Sugar 2/3 Cup (10.67 tbs) (150 mL)
Sea salt 1/4 Teaspoon
Milk 4 Cup (64 tbs) (1L)
Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
Eggs 4 Large
For dusting and greasing
Flour 1 Teaspoon (For dusting)
Unsalted butter 1 Teaspoon (for greasing)



1. Preheat oven to 425 degree F or 220 degree C. 

2. Butter and flour a 10- inch pie plate and set aside.



3. In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, and salt. 

4. In a separate bowl, whisk milk, vanilla, and eggs.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into wet ingredients, while whisking constantly to make a smooth batter.

6. Pour batter into prepared pie plate and bake for about 90 minutes or until browned in places, puffed in the centre, and set around the edges. 

7. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool to room temperature, then chill in the fridge 30 minutes before slicing.



8. Serve and enjoy!
