Spiced Apple Butter

Tart cooking apples 5 Pound , quartered (Peeled, Cored About 12 Cups)
Apple cider 3 Cup (48 tbs)
Sugar 2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)
Ground cinnamon 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Ground cloves 1⁄4 Teaspoon


In large saucepan bring apples and cider to boiling; reduce heat.

Simmer, covered, 20 to 25 minutes or till apples are tender.

Place steel blade in work bowl; add 2 cups of the apples.

Process till smooth; transfer to 13x9x2-inch bak-ng dish.

Repeat with remaining apples, processing 2 cups at a time.

Stir sugar, cinnamon, and cloves into apples.

Bake in 300° oven for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or till thick when spooned; stir every half hour to prevent edges from overcooking.

Fill jars and process.
