Spiced Apple Honey Butter


Tart apples 4 Pound (12 Medium Sized)
Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Apple juice 1 Quart
Lemon juice 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Ground cinnamon 2 Teaspoon
Ground cloves 1/2 Teaspoon
Ground ginger 1/4 Teaspoon
Ground nutmeg 1/4 Teaspoon
Light mild flavored honey 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)


Quarter and core unpeeled apples.

In a 6-quart or larger pan, combine apples, water, apple juice, and lemon juice.

Cover and simmer over medium-low heat until fruit is soft (about 30 minutes).

Using metal blade, process mixture, a portion at a time, until pureed.

Return puree to pan.

Add salt, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, and honey.

Cook, uncovered, over low heat for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring more frequently as butter thickens.
