Apple Butter Crumb Bars

Ingredients

All purpose flour 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Baking soda 1 Teaspoon
Ground cinnamon 1/2 Teaspoon
Quick cooking rolled oats
Chopped nuts 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Firmly packed brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Firm butter/Margarine 1/2 Pound , cut into pieces (1 Cup)
Apple butter/1 1/2 cups homemade apple butter 16 Ounce (1 Jar)

Directions

In a mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, oats, nuts, and brown sugar until thoroughly blended.

With a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly and no large particles remain.

Spread half the oat mixture evenly over bottom of an ungreased 9 by 13-inch baking pan and press down lightly.

Spread apple butter evenly over crumb layer, then sprinkle remaining oat mixture over top press down lightly.

Bake in a 400° oven for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Let cool completely in pan on a rack.

Cut into bars (about 1 1/2 by 2 inches) or squares (about 2 1/4 by 2 1/4 inches).

Store covered.
