Dry ingredients
All purpose flour 1 3/4 Cup (28 tbs)
Baking powder 1 1/4 Teaspoon
Baking soda 3/4 Teaspoon
Sugar 2 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Wet ingredients
Eggs 1 Large
Buttermilk 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Softened butter 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Other ingredients
Raisins 1 1/4 Cup (20 tbs)
Caraway seeds 2 Teaspoon

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

3. In a bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk egg, buttermilk, and butter.

5. Add wet ingredients to the flour mixture, and stir until dry ingredients are barely moistened. Do not over mix. If dough is too dry then add more buttermilk 1 teaspoon at a time.

6. Fold in raisins and caraway seeds.

7. On the baking sheet, transfer the dough and make a 6-7 inch mound with wet hands. Cut a 2-inch deep cross onto the top of the loaf.

8. Pop in oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until golden or toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

9. Transfer loaf to a cooling rack to cool prior to slicing.

10. Slice and serve with butter.
