Lángos Bread (Hungarian Fried Bread)

A very easy recipe for authentic Hungarian Langos Fried Bread!


Potatoes 3 Large , boiled, peeled
Yeast 7 Teaspoon
Sugar 3 Teaspoon
All purpose flour 4 Cup (64 tbs) (more if needed)
Salt 3 Teaspoon
Vegetable oil 3 Tablespoon (or more if needed)
Oil 1 Cup (16 tbs) (For deep frying)



1. In a large bowl, mash potatoes with yeast, and sugar.

2. Add flour, salt, and vegetable oil. Mix to combine.

3. On floured work surface, transfer the dough and knead for 5-7 minutes.

4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with saran wrap and put it in warm place to sit and rise until double in size.


5. Divided the dough into ½ cup sized pieces, place on floured surface and flatten it up using hands as shown in the video.

6. In a frying pan, heat oil until it reaches 350 degree F.

7. Put bread in oil and cook until nice and golden on both sides. Drain on paper towel.


8. Serve hot and enjoy!
