Lynn demonstrates how to make a Cottage Pie, also known as Shepherd's Pie. This was a viewer request from Dylan. This is a great dinner idea. Serve with a salad for a complete meal.

For meat mixture
Ground beef 1 1/2 Pound
Kitchen bouquet sauce 1 Tablespoon (Kitchen Bouquet browning and seasoning sauce)
Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Worcestershire sauce 1 Tablespoon
Yellow onions 2 Small , finely chopped
Canola oil/Vegetable oil 2 Tablespoon
All purpose flour
Dried thyme 2 Teaspoon
Beef bouillon cubes 2
Cooking spray 2 Dash
For mashed potatoes
Red potatoes 2 Pound , peeled and cubed
Butter 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Salt 2 Teaspoon
White pepper 1/8 Teaspoon , grounded
Nutmeg 1/8 Teaspoon , grated
Heavy cream 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Egg yolk 1
Cheddar cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs) , grated

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a casserole dish with cooking spray.

2. In a large saucepan, heat oil and add in the onion. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.

3. Add in the ground beef, break up and sauté until the beef has lost all of its color.

4. Gradually stir in the flour and sauté for a few seconds.

5. Season with thyme, Kitchen bouquet, beef bouillon cubes and Worcestershire sauce.

6. Pour in water and reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

7. Remove the meat from the pan with a slotted spoon and put into the prepared casserole dish.

8. For mashed potatoes – in a large pot, place the potatoes and add cold water to 1 inch above the potatoes.

9. Cover the pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Lower the heat to a simmer and cook until the potatoes are tender for 20 minutes.

10. Drain off the water. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher.

11. Stir in the nutmeg, cream, egg yolk, butter, salt, and pepper.

12. Cover the entire meat mixture with the mashed potatoes. Sprinkle the top of the potatoes with the grated Cheddar cheese.

13. Bake in oven for 20-30 minutes.

14. Serve Cottage Pie with green salad.
