Low Sodium Corned Beef and Cabbage

This is a European beef dish that uses cured meat as the main ingredient. As it is slow cooked it is full of flavor and nutrition. This is a real classic meal that the whole family can enjoy together.


Sodium free corned beef 750 Gram
Ground black pepper 1 Tablespoon
Ground allspice 1 Teaspoon
Bay leaves 2
Carrot 3 , roughly chopped
Onion 2 Small , roughly chopped
Potato 3 Medium , roughly chopped
Celery stalk 2 , roughly chopped
Cabbage head 1/2
Water 3 Liter



1. Into a large Dutch oven, place the sodium free corned beef, allspice, bay leaves, and pepper.

2. Pour water, and bring to a boil over high heat. Cover, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 hours.

3. Add the carrots, onions, potatoes and celery. Increase the heat and cook uncovered for 15 minutes.

4. Add the cabbage, cover and cook for an additional 15-20 minutes or just until potato and cabbage are tender. Remove and discard the bay leaves.


5. Serve hot and enjoy!
