In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Cheddar Chive Beer Bread. You may leave out the Cheddar cheese and chives for a simple Beer Bread.
Self rising flour | 3 Cup (48 tbs) | |
Sugar | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Shredded sharp cheddar cheese | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) , finely shredded | |
Snipped chives | 2 Tablespoon (fresh) | |
Beer | 12 Ounce | |
Butter | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , melted | |
Cooking oil spray | 1/2 Teaspoon (for greasing) |
GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
2. Grease a 9-inch by 5-inch loaf pan with cooking oil spray.
MAKING
3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cheese, and fresh chives. Mix well.
4. Pour beer and gently fold the mixture just until dry ingredients are moistened.
5. Into the loaf pan, transfer the dough and spread evenly.
6. Pop the pan in oven and bake for about 45 minutes.
7. Pour melted butter evenly over top and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes.
8. Remove from oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes in pan and then cool completely on cooling rack.
SERVING
9. Cut in slices and serve hot with butter.
