Betty demonstrates how to make Russian Cheese Spread on Pumpernickel Bread. This is a tasty cream cheese spread with olives and walnuts, plus flavorful seasonings -- terrific for summer!
|Cream cheese||8 Ounce (You may use Neufchatel cheese at room temperature)|
|Ketchup||1/4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Tabasco sauce||1/2 Teaspoon|
|Worcestershire sauce||1 Teaspoon|
|Chopped stuffed green olives||1/4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chopped english walnuts||1/4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Pumpernickel bread slice||8 (as needed)|
1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine cream cheese, ketchup, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce, olives, and walnuts. Mix well. Cover with plastic wrap and chill until ready to serve.
2. When ready to serve, spread Russian Cheese Spread generously on a slice of pumpernickel bread and top it with a second slice.
3. Slice diagonally and serve.
