Edenton Eggnog

Eggs 12 , separated
Sifted powdered sugar 16 Ounce (1 Package)
Dark rum 2 Cup (32 tbs) , divided
Bourbon 2 Cup (32 tbs) , divided
Milk 1 Quart
Whipping cream 1 1/2 Quart
Freshly ground nutmeg 1/2 Teaspoon



1) Into a bowl beat the egg yolks using an electric mixer till frothy

2) Add in the sugar and beat till light yellow in color

3) Add in 1 cup of rum and 1 cup of bourbon

4) Then add in the milk and whipping cream and continue to mix well

5) Into another bowl, whip the egg whites till stiff peaks

6) Fold the egg whites into the egg yolk mixture and place this into the refrigerator to chill thoroughly


7) Pour the eggnog into glasses and sprinkle each glass with nutmeg


8) Serve the eggnog chilled
