In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Catalina Dressing. This is a versatile dressing and can be used as a salad dressing or drizzled over tomatoes or bean salad. It can also be used as a marinade for beef, pork, poultry, or fish and makes a lovely dipping sauce for French fries, fried onions, and other deep-fried foods.
Sugar | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Ketchup | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Vinegar | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Vegetable oil | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Onion | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , finely chopped | |
Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
Dry mustard | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Garlic salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Paprika | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Oregano | 1/2 Teaspoon |
MAKING
1. In a jar with airtight lid, combine sugar, ketchup, vinegar, oil, onion, and salt.
2. Drop mustard, garlic salt, paprika, and oregano. Shake well until well blended.
3. Pop the dressing in refrigerator and allow it to chill.
SERVING
4. Serve it on green salad or use it as marinade or dipping sauce.
