Baked Doughnut Puffs

Ingredients

Vegetable shortening 2 Tablespoon
Sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Egg 1
Sifted flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Baking powder 1 Tablespoon
Nutmeg 1/2 Teaspoon
Milk 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Walnuts 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , chopped
Confectioners' sugar 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Cinnamon 1/2 Teaspoon
Butter 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , melted

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Preheat oven hot to 400°.

MAKING

2. In a bowl cream shortening, sugar and egg until fluffy.

3. In a large bowl sieve flour, salt, baking powder and nutmeg together.

4. Mix alternately with milk to creamed mixture.

5. Knead to form stiff dough.

6. Add nuts and mix.

7. Grease small size muffin pans and drop from tablespoon into each.

8. Bake for 20 minutes.

9. In a paper bag add confectioners sugar and cinnamon.

10. Dip top of doughnuts in melted butter. Shake for 2 or 3 at a time in sugar.

SERVING

12. Serve hot.
