Donuts can be made in so many ways, but glazed donuts have always been a classic. So here I share my recipe for the simple Eggless Glazed Donuts.

Ingredients

Warm water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Sugar 3 Tablespoon
Yeast 7 Gram
All purpose flour 300 Gram (Plus 1/4 cup for rolling)
Dry milk powder 3 Tablespoon
Vegetable shortening 3 Tablespoon
Salt 1 Teaspoon
Powdered sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Confectionary Sugar/ Icing Sugar)
Water 1 Tablespoon (Or more as required)
Vanilla essence 4 Drop
Castor sugar 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) (For making sugar coated doughnuts)
Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (For deep frying)

Directions

MAKING

1. Dissolve sugar in warm water, followed by yeast. Let it bloom.

2. Meanwhile mix all purpose flour and dry milk powder together.

3. Drop the flour mix into the food processor. Add the yeast mix while the food processor is still running.

4. When the dough comes together. Add salt and run the processor for a minute.

5. Apply shortening over the dough and run the processor for another 30 seconds or so. The dough should be slightly sticky at this point.

6. Place the dough in a slightly greased bowl, cover and let it rest for an hour in a warm place or until the dough doubles in size.

7. Sprinkle flour on a work bench. Place the dough on the work bench and roll it to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut doughnuts with the help of a cutter. Make holes with another cutter.

8. Spread doughnuts and the doughnut holes on a cookie sheet, cover and let it rise for another half an hour.

9. Meanwhile add vanilla extract and water to the icing sugar and continue to add water with constant mixing until you get a glaze like consistency.

10. Heat oil and deep fry the doughnuts, flipping and browning both sides.

11. Dip the doughnuts in glaze and let them rest on the wire rack.

12. Coat the doughnut balls in sugar and let them sit on wire rack as well.

SERVING

13. Serve the doughnuts with tea, coffee or all by themselves. Enjoy.
