Basic Cookie Dough

Make this really simple dough and turn this into many delicious cookie variations.


Unsalted butter 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Egg yolks 2 Medium
Vanilla essence 1 Teaspoon
All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs) , sifted
Baking powder 1 Teaspoon



1. In an electric beater put the butter and cream it well. Add sugar and continue to mix till fluffy.

2. Add the egg yolks one by one and mix till incorporated after each addition. Pour the vanilla essence and continue to mix till well combined.

3. Slowly add the sifted flour while continuously mixing till all the flour is incorporated into a soft dough. Scrape occasionally, to combine evenly, at every step.


4. Use this dough to make cookies of any kind like the Thumbprint cookies, Hershey' Kisses Cookie, Chocolate chips cookies, etc.
