Afghani Pulao is a traditional Afghan cuisine, which is made by cooking basmati with mutton, lamb, beef or chicken, and oil. There exist different variations depending on the region. In this recipe, steamed basmati rice is mixed with raisins, fried julienned carrots, and mutton. With the right flavours, textures and richness, this dish is a delicious blend of sweet and savory. Afghani Pulao rice with carrots and raisins is very popular in Saudi Arabia.
