1935 Pie Plant Tarts Recipe from the Wilken Family Home Cooking Album. I have to admit that I had no clue what a pie Plant Tart was... no idea that Pie Plant is the same as Rhubarb. So what we have here is a rhubarb pie recipe.
Chopped rhubarb/Pie plants | 4 Cup (64 tbs) , peeled, cut into very small pieces | |
Sugar | 2 Cup (32 tbs) | |
Eggs | 2 , beaten | |
Flour | 2 Tablespoon | |
Salt | 1 Pinch | |
For pie dough | ||
All purpose flour | 345 Gram (2½ cups) | |
Sugar | 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) | |
Salt | 3/4 Teaspoon (3 ml) | |
Chilled butter | 240 Gram (1 cup, cut into ½" cubes) | |
Ice water | 6 Tablespoon (90 ml approx.) |
