Onam festival is celebrated in Kerala as a harvest festival. Marking the end of monsoon and start of the harvest season, Onam is celebrated on large scale!

This delicious Kerala Style Beetroot Pachadi is a raita recipe made from Beetroot. This raita is a perfect side dish to be served with any meal!

Ingredients

Grated fresh coconut 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Mustard seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1/4 Teaspoon
Ginger 1/4 Inch
Garlic 4 Clove (20 gm)
Green chilli 1
Beetroot 1 (boiled & grated)
Water 1 Tablespoon
Curd 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
For tempering:
Oil 2 Tablespoon
Mustard seeds 1/2 Teaspoon
Dried red chillies 2
Curry leaves 8
