Welcome Friends! It's Sunday morning so we're going to do another recipe out of a depression-era cookbook for our Old Cookbook Show. Today we're going to do one from the 1932 edition of the five roses flour a guide to good cooking, if you are Canadian chances are you have you have one of these cookbooks in your cupboard. We're going to make this peanut butter bread recipe.
All purpose flour | 500 Milliliter (about 2 cups) | |
Sugar | 60 Milliliter (about 1/4 cup) | |
Baking powder | 20 Milliliter (about 4 tsp) | |
Salt | 2 Milliliter (about 1/2 tsp) | |
Milk | 325 Milliliter (about 1 1/3 cup) | |
Peanut butter | 125 Milliliter (about 1/2 cup) |
GETTING READY:
1. Preheat oven to 160ºC (325ºF).
MAKING:
2. Mix together the dry ingredients.
3. Mix in the milk, and then the peanut butter.
4. Scrape into a greased loaf tin and bake for 1 hour.
