Eggnog | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) ((maybe a little less or more)) | |
Ground nutmeg | 1/4 Teaspoon |
GETTING READY:
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
MAKING:
2. In a bowl combine the all purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, and salt. Give it a good mix and set aside.
3. In another bowl whisk together the eggs, eggnog, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until combined.
4. Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
5. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and put into the oven to bake 55-65 minutes. Check it at 55 minutes!
6. Once cooked, let it cool slightly before turning it out of the pan and putting it onto a plate
7. In a small bowl add the powdered sugar and slowly add in the eggnog. Mix slowly until all of the powdered sugar is dissolved. Make sure to only add a little liquid at a time because you don’t want the glaze to be too runny and it all run off of the bread!
SERVING:
8. Add the glaze to the top of the bread, sprinkle a little more ground nutmeg on the top, slice, and serve. What a festive holiday treat!
