Dal Vada is a crispy snack recipe made from black lentil, split chickpea and spices. It is a popular South Indian recipe that tastes well when had with coconut chutney. Do try it at home and share your feedback in the comments below.
|Chickpeas||1 Cup (16 tbs) , soaked (split)|
|Black lentil||1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , soaked (split)|
|Green chillies||2 , chopped finely|
|Chopped ginger||1/2 Teaspoon|
|Coriander leaves||1 Tablespoon|
|Cumin seeds||1/2 Teaspoon|
|Turmeric powder||1/2 Teaspoon|
|Red chilli powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Coriander powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Fennel seeds||1 Teaspoon|
|Rice flour||2 Tablespoon|
|Oil||2 Cup (32 tbs) (For deep frying)|
1. Keep aside 2 tbsp split chickpea, 1 tbsp black lentil to use later. Grind rest of the chickpea and black lentil coarse.
2. Mix them together, add green chillies, curry leaves, ginger, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, fennel seeds, onion, rice flour and the chickpea and black lentil that we had keep aside. Add salt and mix them well.
3. Grease your palm with oil, take the small portion and make patti's.
4. Heat oil in a vessel, fry the vada on both sides on medium flame. Our Crispy Dal Vada's are ready.
5. Serve & Enjoy.
