Rice Pudding

Who can resist the sweet temptations of homemade rice pudding?

Ingredients

Basmati rice 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Milk 3 Cup (48 tbs)
Heavy cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Sugar 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Unsalted butter 1 Teaspoon
Ground cinnamon 1/2 Teaspoon
Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
For maple candied walnuts:
Walnuts 1 Cup (16 tbs) , halves
Unsalted butter 1 Teaspoon
Maple syrup 1 Tablespoon

Directions

FOR RICE PUDDING:

MAKING:

1. Combine all the ingredients in a large sauce pan.

2. Boil over medium heat.

3. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 - 40 min.

4. Stir occasionally as mixture thickens.

5. Stir in Vanilla extract.

6. Remove from heat.

FOR MAPLE CANDIED WALNUTS:

MAKING:

1. Over medium low heat melt butter in cast iron skillet.

2. Stir in maple syrup.

3. Add walnuts and cook for 5 minutes.

4. Stir constantly.

SERVING:

5. Serve rice pudding with maple candied walnuts as a topping.
