Ambrosia Salad

Today Im sharing with you our recipe for Ambrosia, which is a classic Southern fruit salad. There are many different ways of making this but we like to beflexible and use a mix of fresh and canned fruit to makethis a convenient salad to whip up anytime of year.

Ingredients

Canned pineapple chucks 20 Ounce , drained ((juice reserved, 1 can))
Apple 1 Large , peeled ((chopped))
Sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Sour cream 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Canned fruit cocktail 15 Ounce , drained ((1 can))
Canned mandarin oranges 30 Ounce ((2 cans of 15 ounce each))
Mini marshmallows 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Chopped pecans 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Shredded coconut 1 Cup (16 tbs) ((unsweetened, but sweetened works too))

Directions

MAKING:

1.Place the pineapple juice in a small bowl and add in the chopped apple. Stir to coat and set aside.

2.Place the sugar and sour cream together in a large bowl and stir until well combined.

3.Drain the apples (discard juice) and add them and all other ingredients to the sour cream mixture.

SERVING:

4.Stir well to combine. Cover, and refrigerate several hours before serving.
