Whole chicken | 1 (drumsticks, fat pieces with bones and boneless breast pieces) | |
Buttermilk | 500 Milliliter | |
Lemon juice | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Salt | To Taste | |
Self raising flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Cornflour | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Sweet pepper | 1 Teaspoon | |
Garlic powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
Cayenne pepper | 1 Teaspoon | |
Onion powder | 1 Tablespoon | |
Dry parsley | 1 Tablespoon | |
Crushed black pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon |
GETTING READY:
1.Add a bit of lemon juice and salt to 500 ml of buttermilk.
2.Pour the mixture over the chicken pieces, and keep it in refrigerator for 2 hours.
MAKING:
3.In a bowl add self raising flour ,cornflour ,sweet paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper,onion powder,dry parsley, crushed black pepper and salt to taste and whisk all the ingredients together.
4.Coat the chicken in the dry rub and keep the chicken aside for 10 minutes.
5.In a pan/skillet add one inch of oil, start adding the pieces in the pan.
6.Let the chicken get fried properly from all the sides.
7.Cover it for 1 - 2 minutes.
8.Take the breast pieces out first, then wings and finally the thighs and drumsticks.
SERVING:
9.And the fried chicken is ready to be served.
