|Freshly grated coconut||1/2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Cooked rice||2 1/2 Cup (40 tbs) (chawal)|
|Sesame seeds||2 Tablespoon (til)|
|Broken cashew nuts||3 Tablespoon (kaju)|
|Urad dal||1 Teaspoon (split black lentils)|
|Chana dal||1 Teaspoon (split bengal gram)|
|Cumin seeds||1 Teaspoon (jeera)|
|Mustard seeds||1 Teaspoon (rai / sarson)|
|Whole dry red chilies||1 , broken|
|Curry leaves||8 (kadi patta)|
|Asafoetida||1/2 Teaspoon (hing)|
|Finely chopped green chillies||2 Teaspoon|
1. Heat a small broad non-stick pan, add the sesame seeds and dry roast on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring continuously.
2. Allow the mixture to cool completely.
3 When cool, blend in a mixer to a coarse powder and keep aside.
4. Heat the ghee in the deep-non kadhai, add the cashewnuts and sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove and keep aside.
5. Heat the oil in the same non-stick deep kadhai, add the urad dal and chana dal and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds.
6. Add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds, red chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida and sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute.
7. Add the prepared sesame powder, green chillies, coconut, rice and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
8. Serve hot garnished with sautéed cashew nuts.
