Lean ground turkey | 1 1/2 Kilogram (about 1 1/4 lbs) | |
Grape seed oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
Red pepper | 1 Small , dice | |
Sliced mushrooms | 2 Cup (32 tbs) | |
Garlic | 3 Clove (15 gm) , grated | |
Fresh ginger | 1 Inch , grated | |
Sliced water chestnuts | 1 Cup (16 tbs) , cut in half | |
Hoisin sauce | 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs) | |
Low sodium soy sauce | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Sriracha | 1 Tablespoon | |
Scallions | 100 Gram , slice (about 1 bunch) | |
Bibb lettuce leaves | 8 (or any kind of lettuce you want for serving) |
MAKING:
1.In a saute pan over medium high heat add the ground turkey. Use your spoon or spatula to break it up and cook until everything is completely cooked through.
2.Using a slotted spoon take out the ground turkey and add it into a bowl and discard any juices in the pan
3.Heat up the oil in a pan over medium heat
4.Add in the red pepper and mushrooms and saute for about 5 minutes
5.Add the grated garlic, ginger, and sliced water chestnuts into the pan and saute for another minute
6.To the pan add back in the cooked ground turkey, breaking up any large chunks. To the ground turkey add the Hoisin, soy sauce, and Sriracha. Mix until completely combined
7.Cook for another 1-2 minutes
SERVING:
8.Add in the sliced scallions and serve! I like to put the whole pan on the table and give everyone a big plate of lettuce and let them serve themselves. It's fun AND delicious!
