Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

If you are used to local bakeries simply serving cinnamon-flavoured buns in the name of cinnamon rolls, you are in for a real, super surprise! These eggless Homemade Cinnamon Rolls are the real thing. Here, the dough is packed with a cinnamon-flavoured icing and then baked to perfection. As you bite into it, the soft and fluffy bread reveals a creamy, cinnamon-tinged core, enthralling your taste buds and making your heart soar with joy! Ingredients

For the rolls:
Instant dry yeast 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Sugar 2 Tablespoon
Butter 1/5 Cup (3.2 tbs) , divided ((1 tsp melted butter for brushing))
Milk 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Plain flour 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) ((maida))
Salt 1 Pinch
For the filling:
Soft butter 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Cinnamon powder 2 Tablespoon ((dalchini))
Brown sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)

Directions

GETTING READY:

1.Combine the yeast, sugar and 2 tbsp of lukewarm water in a bowl, mix well and cover with a lid and keep aside for 10 minutes.

2.Combine the butter and milk in a saucepan, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer it in a deep bowl and cool slightly.

3.Combine the plain flour, butter- milk mixture, yeast-sugar mixture and salt and knead into a soft dough without using any water.

4.Cover with a damp muslin cloth and keep aside in a warm place for 1 hour.

5.Preheat the oven at 200c (400f).

MAKING:

6.Knead well and roll the dough into a 300 mm. (12) by 225 mm. (9) diameter rectangle.

7.Spread the prepared filling evenly over it leaving space from all the sides.

8.Roll from the longer side to another end.

9.Cut into 13 equal slices using a sharp knife.

10.Arrange them in a 175 mm. (7) diameter cake tin.

11.Cover with a damp muslin cloth and keep aside in a warm place for 30 minutes.

12.Bake in a pre-heated oven for 20 minutes.

13.Cool slightly, loosen the edges with a knife, demould it.

14.Brush the rolls with melted butter evenly over it.

SERVING:

15.Serve immediately.
