How To Make Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Are you are gingerbread fan? This old-fashioned gingerbread loaf is so easy to make with simple ingredients. The smell will have your house smelling amazing! It bakes up moist and dense and perfectly spiced with cinnamon, ginger and bit of clove. I dont add black pepper to my gingerbread but feel free to if you prefer it spicy! And of course, youre gonna find some buttermilk for forgiveness! It really adds marvelous moisture to the loaf and keeps it so moist for days!


Packed dark brown sugar 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Butter 4 Tablespoon ((((room temperature))))
Vegetable oil 4 Tablespoon
Egg 1 ((((room temperature))))
Vanilla extract 1 1/2 Teaspoon
Molasses 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) ((((unsulfured))))
All purpose flour
Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Cinnamon 1 Tablespoon
Clove 1/4 Teaspoon
Ginger 1 1/2 Teaspoon
Hot water 3/4 Cup (12 tbs)
Buttermilk 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
For glaze
Powdered sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Milk cream/Coffee cream 1 Tablespoon
Vanilla extract/Maple extract 1 Dash
