Chatpata Palak Chaat - Palak Patte Ki Chaat - How To Make Crispy Spinach Chaat

Crunchy Palak leaves with desi spicy peanut mixture topped with yogurt, papdi pomegranate seeds for a perfect chatpata evening snack. Just go for it!


Gramflour 1 Cup (16 tbs) (besan)
Asafoetida 1 1/2 Teaspoon (hing)
Red chilli powder 1 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1 Teaspoon
Fennel powder 1 Teaspoon (saunf)
Cumin powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Chaat masala 2 Teaspoon
Garam masala 1 Teaspoon
Salt 1 Teaspoon
Water 1 Cup (16 tbs) (for a medium consistency batter)
Spinach leaves 6 Large
Oil 3 Cup (48 tbs) (for frying)
For chaat:
Chopped onions 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Red chilli powder 1 Teaspoon
Salted peanuts 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Pomegranate pearls 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Curd 1 Tablespoon
Sweet chutney 1/2 Tablespoon (red)
Mint and coriander chutney 1 Tablespoon
Fennel powder 2 Teaspoon
Chaat masala 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Papdi 3 (Indian fried pastry)



1.In a mixing bowl, add gramflour, asafoetida, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, fennel powder, cumin powder, cumin powder, chaat masala, garam masala, salt, water and make a medium consistency batter.

2.Dip the spinach leaves in the batter.

3.Heat oil in a pan and fry them till golden brown.

4.In another mixing bowl, add chopped onions, red chilli powder, salted peanuts,pomegranate pearls, curd, sweet red chutney, mint and coriander chutney, fennel powder,chaat masala, salt, padi and mix well.

For assembly :

5.Put the fried palak pakoda on the chopping board.

6.Top it up with the chaat mixture.

7.Add some more curd, red chutney, green chutney, lemon juice.

8.Top it with sev and some pomegranate pearls and some papdi crumbled.


9.Serve and enjoy.
