Old-Fashioned Cornbread Dressing (with chicken)

How do you like your cornbread dressing? If you like it firm, moist and fluffy with lots of flavor then this southern cornbread dressing is for you!! Starting with homemade buttermilk cornbread, sautéed peppers onions, tender chicken thighs, savory broth and lots of spices this dressing is full of deep south soul! Its good enough to eat alone alone but great with turkey and gravy!


For buttermilk cornbread
Yellow cornmeal 1 1/4 Cup (20 tbs)
All purpose flour
Baking powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Baking soda 1/2 Teaspoon
Salt 1/4 Teaspoon
Egg 2 (((slightly beaten)))
Buttermilk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Butter 6 Teaspoon , melt
For dressing
Butter 2 Tablespoon
Celery 1 Cup (16 tbs) , dice
Onions 1 Cup (16 tbs) , dice
Green bell peppers 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , dice
Red bell peppers 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , dice
Chicken thighs 4 ((cooked & chopped (seasoned with salt & pepper)))
Bread slices 3 , toast ((crumbled))
Poultry seasoning 1 Tablespoon
Sage 1 Tablespoon
Black pepper 1 Teaspoon
Chicken broth 4 Cup (64 tbs)
Eggs 2 ((slightly beaten))
Salt To Taste
