Matar Masala Curry / Green Peas Curry

Matar Masala is very popular main course Indian dish prepared with green peas and tomatoes. Vegan and gluten free, this curry can also be an excellent base for any vegetarian or non-vegetarian main course curry. Serve this curry with rice or Indian style naan bread, paratha, roti.

If you find curry on spicy side, serve it with traditional Cucumber Raita.


Green peas 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Onion 1 Large , pureed
Oil 1/2 Tablespoon
Ghee 1/2 Tablespoon
Cinnamon stick 1
Cumin seeds 1 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 Teaspoon
Red chili powder To Taste
Coriander cumin powder 1 Teaspoon
Cashew 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) , broken
Ginger garlic paste 1 Tablespoon
Salt To Taste
Tomatoes 4 , pureed
Garam masala To Taste
Cream To Taste (for garnish)
Coriander leaves 1 Tablespoon (garnish)
