British scones are very different from American scones and are more comparable to what we would consider a biscuit! This recipe produces light and tender scones, or biscuits, that will rise beautifully.
|Self raising flour||225 Gram|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Butter||20 Gram , dice|
|Vegetable fat||20 Gram , dice ((Trex))|
|Caster sugar||40 Gram|
1.Preheat oven to 220C.
2.In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder and mix well.
3.Add fat, sugar and mix well with fingers.
4.In a bowl whisk together milk and eggs.
5.Pour into flour mixture and mix well.
6.Pat the dough and roll using rolling pin lightly.
7.Cut out small circles and place on baking tray.
8.Brush with remaining egg and pop into oven.
9.Bake for 10 minutes.
10.Serve with cream or jam and enjoy!
