Everyone in our house has enormous affection for tacos, so when I came up with this taco buffet concept, my kids' taco love escalated to taco fanaticism. Getting to make their tacos "their way" gave them a great sense of pride. I like to set out all the components in colorful bowls with spoons and let everyone go to town personalizing their meal.

Ingredients

Lean ground beef 1 Pound
Olive oil 2 Tablespoon
Onion powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Garlic powder 1/2 Teaspoon
Ground cumin 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt 1/4 Teaspoon
Whole wheat tortillas/Taco shells 4

Directions

MAKING:

1.Heat a saute pan and add beef, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, salt and mix well.

2.Saute the ingredients until cooked or for 10 minutes. Drain off excess fat.

3.Place cooked beef mixture, tortillas and other ingredients as desired in different bowls.

4.Assemble as desired.

SERVING:

5.Serve with favorite accompaniments and enjoy!

NOTE:

Accompaniment options: Guacamole, sour cream, grated mexican cheese (cheddar, Colby and Monterrey jack), black or pinto beans and/or chopped lettuce, salsa, sliced avocados.
