Ingredients

Pitted dates 8 Ounce , chopped
Walnuts 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , finely chopped
Packed brown sugar 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Water 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Lemon juice 1 Teaspoon
Vanilla 1/2 Teaspoon
Wonton wrappers 1 Pound
Fat 2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Deep Frying)
Icing sugar 1 Tablespoon (Confectioners)

Directions

MAKING

1) In a saucepan mix the first 6 ingredients.

2) Bring to boil, simmer and stir until thick.

3) On won ton wrapper, spoon 1 /2 tsp. (2 mL) date filling in center of outside edge.

4) Moisten other 3 edges with water.

5) Roll up like a jelly roll.

6) Twist open ends and seal with gentle press.

7) Deep-fry in 375°F (190°C) hot fat.

8) Drain on paper towels.

SERVING

9) Cool and serve.
