Savor the Flavors host Brittany Allyn, shares the recipe for Chocoflan and the story of how it became a family favorite.


Chocolate cake mix 18 1/4 Ounce (1 package, (I used Duncan Hines Devils Food. Be sure to note the ingredients needed on the box)
La lechera dulce de leche caramel cojeta/Smuckers caramel topping 13 1/2 Ounce
Hot water 2 Cup (32 tbs) (for water bath)
Whipped cream 2 Tablespoon (for garnish)
For the flan:
Evaporated milk 12 Ounce (1 can)
Sweetened condensed milk 14 Ounce (1 can)
Eggs 4 Large
Vanilla 2 Tablespoon
Cinnamon 1/2 Teaspoon
Cooking spray 1



Preheat oven at 350F.

Grease baking pan with cooking spray and set aside.

Prepare cake mix as directed and set aside.


In a large bowl, combine evaporated milk, cinnamon and mix well.

Add sweetened condensed milk, eggs, vanilla and beat for 2 minutes until well combined.

Microwave cup of Dulce de leche and heat in 10 second intervals.

Pour into baking pan as shown in the video.

Add chocolate cake mixture into pan and pour flan mixture over it.

Place into large roasting pan.

Pour 1 inch of boiling water and pop into oven.

Bake for 30-35 minutes.

Allow to cool completely and refrigerate until serving.


Serve with warm dulce de leche and whipped cream over top and enjoy!
