When I say Fast Flan, I mean it. No baking required. Egg Gelatin free Flan Recipe. Flan also known as Caramel Custard or Caramel Cream. Vegan flan can be prepared same way by just customizing few ingredients and make this quick and easy flan like a pro.
Sugar | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) (preferably brown sugar) | |
Water | 3 Tablespoon | |
Cream | 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs) | |
Condensed milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Agar powder | 1 Tablespoon | |
Vanilla extract | 1 Tablespoon |
MAKING
1. In a saucepan, add sugar and water, cook stirring over medium to high heat amber in color.
2. In another pot, add cream, condensed milk, agar powder, mix well. You can use a hand blender to make it lump free.
3. In 2 flan pots and pour in the caramel, swirl to coat all sides.
4. Simmer the flan mixture for few minutes, when bubbles form, turn off the heat.
5. Add vanilla extract, stir to mix. Allow to cool and then refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
SERVING
6. Invert onto a plate and cut into wedges.Top with some more brown sugar syrup if desired.
