How To Make Spiderman Cupcakes

Celebrate Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone's The Amazing Spiderman 2 movie with some Spiderman cupcakes! These were so easy to decorate! I love making superhero themed cakes and cookies :) Let me know which superhero you'd like to see me make next!

Ingredients

For the cupcakes:
Cake flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
Baking soda 3/4 Teaspoon
Salt 1/2 Teaspoon
Unsalted butter 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) , softened (at room temperature)
Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Eggs 2
Vanilla extract 2 Teaspoon
Buttermilk 1 Cup (16 tbs) , shaken
For vanilla frosting:
Sifted confectioners' sugar 3 Cup (48 tbs)
Unsalted butter 1 Cup (16 tbs) , softened
Milk/Heavy cream 2 Tablespoon
Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
For chocolate frosting:
Butter 1/4 Cup (4 tbs)
Cocoa 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Powdered sugar 1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)
Milk 3 Tablespoon
Vanilla 1/2 Teaspoon
For the decoration:
Red food coloring 1
Black food coloring 1

Directions

GETTING READY:

Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C.

Line cupcake pans with liners.

 

MAKING:

In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and mix well.

In another bowl, combine sugar and butter. Beat until light and fluffy.

Add, eggs, vanilla extract, buttermilk and beat well.

Mix the ingredients in both the bowl and fill the cupcake liners with the mixture.

Pop into oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.

For vanilla frosting, sift sugar and add butter, milk and vanilla to it. Mix well.

For chocolate frosting, add milk to melted butter and add sugar to it. Whisk well until stiff peaks.

Add vanilla and beat well.

Take ¼ cup of vanilla frosting in piping bag. Add milk in case the frosting needs to be thinned.

Mix red food coloring to 1 ½ cups of vanilla frosting and black food coloring to 1 cup of chocolate frosting. Fill the colored frostings into piping bags.

Spread red frosting over cupcakes and smooth it. Using toothpicks, draw design as shown in the video.

Draw eyes and fill with white frosting. Use black frosting to darken the lines in design.
