GETTING READY
1. Place baking cups in muffin pan or grease with cooking oil spray and set aside.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
MAKING
3. In a large bowl, combine butter and sugar. Beat until creamy.
4. Add egg, one at a time and beat after each addition. Beat in orange juice and orange extract.
5. In a separate bowl, mix cake flour and baking soda. Stir well.
6. Add flour mixture to batter, alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture, beating until blended after each addition. Divide batter into 2 equal halves.
7. Into one half, add additional 1 teaspoon orange extract and food color (red and yellow, as needed to give orange color).
8. In the other half, add melted chocolate and stir well.
9. Pour orange batter into the lined or greased muffin pan and top it with the chocolate batter.
10. Bake for about 15 minutes or until a toothpick when inserted comes out clean.
11. Remove cupcakes from oven and let cool slightly in pan. Transfer to cooling racks to cool completely.
