Like all Thai food lovers, Im obsessed. From Red to Green curry, Satay Panang to Khao Soi, Ive made and relished it all. When I heard of Pad Kaprow Gai or Pad Gra Pow, I was fascinated as Im a huge fan of Basil. I made this recipe followed by Pad Kaprow Goong also known as Thai Basil Shrimp, now it's Beef's turn! This dish compared to some of my other Thai dishes is very easy to put together and does not use a lot of ingredients.
White peppercorns | 1 Tablespoon | |
Garlic | 12 Clove (60 gm) | |
Red finger chilli | 1 Large | |
Red thai chillies | 5 | |
Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
Beef cubes | 500 Gram | |
Light soya sauce | 2 Tablespoon | |
Fish sauce | 1/2 Tablespoon | |
Oyster sauce | 1/4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
Thai basil | 1 Cup (16 tbs) |
Making:
1. Crush the peppercorns, garlic and red chillies in a mortar and pestle
2. Cut the Beef into a small cubes
3. Heat some oil in a wok and saute the crushed peppercorns, garlic and chilli
4. Add the Beef and saute for 15 mins
5. Add the oyster, soya and fish sauce
SERVING:
6. Add the basil and serve with rice and a fried egg
