If not the whole sadhya, atleast the best part of sadhya can be made special with whole wheat payasam.
|Whole wheat||1 1/2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Water||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Cardamom powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Milk of coconut||2 (milk of 2 whole coconut)|
|Condensed milk||1/2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Cashews & raisins||1/2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped pistachios||1 Tablespoon (for garnishing)|
1.Cook the whole wheat adding water and salt to taste using a pressure cooker.
2.Take condensed milk and thick coconut milk in a bowl and mix well.
3.In another pan heat up the ghee and roast cashews and raisins.
4.Now roast the cooked wheat (a little), then add jaggery and let it melt. Once its melted add cardamom powder to it.
5.Pour the milk, and mix well until milk and wheat are combined and then turn off the flame.
6.Now add the roasted cashews and raisins to the payasam.
7.Serve it hot with the sprinkle of pistachios.
