Inspired by the movie "Chef", this Cuban sandwich is just as juicy and delicious - you can't go wrong with crusty bread, tender pork, cheese, ham and mustard- like a real Cubano, but way easier.

Ingredients

For the pork:
Boneless pork loin chops 6 , thinly cut ((300 g))
Butter 1 Tablespoon
Olive oil 1 Tablespoon
Black pepper 1 Teaspoon
Salt 1 Teaspoon
Dried garlic powder 1 Teaspoon
Dried thyme 1 Teaspoon
Paprika 1 Teaspoon
Dried mustard seeds 1 Teaspoon
For the sandwiches:
Bread loaf/6 slices of bread 1 Medium
Softened butter 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Dijon mustard 1 1/2 Tablespoon
Thin ham slice 9 ((150 g))
Pickles 2 Small , thinly sliced
Cheese slice 6 ((yellow. I like Gouda or Emmental but Swiss is good too))

Directions

GETTING READY:

Preheat grill and grease with olive oil.

MAKING:

Grind black pepper, salt, garlic powder, thyme, paprika and mustard seeds using a mortar and pestle.

Rub the spice mixture on all the sides of pork chops.

Heat a pan with olive oil and butter. Place pork chops (4 per batch) and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and well cooked.

Drain off excess oil using paper towels.

For assembling, butter 1 side of each bread slice and spread mustard on the side.

Place 2 pork pieces on each side followed by ham, cheese and pickles.

Top with other side and cook on grill greased with olive oil.

Cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown. Give adequate pressure while grilling.

SERVING:

Serve with ketchup and enjoy!
