Christmas Fruit Mince Pies

Fruit Mince Pies are a traditional festive treat and an essential for any Christmas celebration. Dried Fruit is combined with brandy, brown sugar, citrus zest and grated apple. The fruit mince is enveloped in home made sweet shortcrust pastry and baked until golden. These gorgeous pies will be a big hit.


For the pastry:
Plain flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
Icing sugar/Powdered sugar 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) (or confectioners sugar)
Chopped butter 150 Gram
Iced water 3 Tablespoon
For the fruit mince:
Mixed dried fruit 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Green apple 1 , grated
Brown sugar 1/3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
Grated lemon zest 1 Teaspoon
Grated orange zest 1 Teaspoon
Nutmeg 1/2 Teaspoon
Mixed spice 1/2 Teaspoon
Lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
Brandy 1 Tablespoon
Melted butter 25 Gram
Beaten egg 1 (for brushing)
