I attempt to bake cookies for the FIRST TIME in my WHOLE LIFE! These are vegan peanut butter cookies... that have nothing to do with pirates, but pirates are fun
Apple sauce | 1/2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
Chunky peanut butter | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
Vanilla extract | 1 Tablespoon | |
Brown sugar | 1 1/4 Cup (20 tbs) | |
Whole wheat flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Unbleached flour | 3/4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
Baking soda | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
Salt | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
Vegetable oil | 1 Dash (For greasing) |
GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
2. Grease a pizza stone or baking sheet with vegetable oil. Set aside.
3. In a bowl mix whole wheat flour, unbleached flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
MAKING
4. In another bowl add apple sauce, peanut butter and vanilla extract. Using a spatula mix well till combined. Add the brown sugar and continue to mix till combined.
5. Slowly add the flour mixture to the apple sauce mixture and mix well till smooth.
6. Put spoon full of the dough on the greased baking sheet (or pizza stone) and mark it with the fork while pressing gently to flatten.
7. Bake for around 15 minutes (check after 10 minutes) or till done. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely in a plate or cooling rack.
SERVING
8. In a serving plate, serve the cookies with milk or any beverage of choice.
